This year's event is being called a success Feeding America Southwest Virginia helped collect more than 410,000 pounds of food during its annual food drive. That's nearly 80,000 pounds more than last year. Organizers say the National Association of Letter Carriers helped boost this year's totals. Local sponsors, Kroger and Corrugated Containers, also helped make the program a success.

Flooding reported in Patrick County

Heavy rain on Monday caused flooding at a bridge in Patrick County, but no major problems were reported in Henry County or Martinsville. The National Weather Service in Blacksburg issued a flash flood watch for the area that was in effect at least until 6 a.m. today.
